FAQ

What is Trancher?

A non-custodial terminal for single-sided limit and laddered orders on Uniswap v4. Your order rests as on-chain liquidity and fills when the market trades through your price.

Is it custodial? Can you take my funds?

No. Funds sit in the pool/hook and are always withdrawable by you. The hook contract is immutable — no upgrade key, no proxy. The most an admin key can do is set a capped cut of earned swap fees; it cannot touch your principal or mint from your positions.

How does a fill work?

Your order is liquidity in a range. When price crosses fully through a rung, that rung fills and its policy runs (keep / extract / reroll). If price only dips partway in and reverses, that rung is partially converted but hasn't triggered its policy yet — standard limit-order behavior.

Why is the 'pool price' different from the market price?

Trancher creates its own Uniswap pool per token+quote+fee. A pool's price only moves when someone trades through it, so a new or thin pool can drift from the broader market until arbitrage pulls it back. Your orders fill against the pool price — the terminal shows both and warns when they diverge, so set your range relative to the pool price.

What fees does Trancher charge?

A small, contract-capped cut of the swap fees your resting liquidity earns — not a tax on every trade and never on principal. Network gas is paid by you to Base, not to Trancher.

Which network and assets?

Base. Any Base token, quoted against USDC or ETH (WETH).

Is it audited?

Not yet. The contracts are new and unaudited. Use small amounts you can afford to lose.

Where are my positions? They don't show in Uniswap.

They're held by the Trancher hook (that's what makes the on-fill policy trustless), so they don't appear as your Uniswap positions. Manage them on the Positions page — cancel to pull liquidity back, collect fees, withdraw proceeds. See the Activity page for a full history.
